These photographs document remnants from “The Room Keeps Moving When I Stand Still,” an installation I removed in 2024. The original work, built from thousands of separate photo prints, covered 100 square feet of wall space. Normally I use push pins, but material constraints required me to use small glue dots to hold the prints in place. They worked well. The installation stayed put for a full year. But, while taking them down, the photos ripped, bent, stuck together, and fell apart.

When I unpacked these pieces, sections of the precise installation had slammed headlong into the physics of unruly materials. As I pried apart what I could, the resulting forms were more fascinating than the original. Collisions became conversations. Obedient structure meets material resistance.
